Trisha Arnold, PhD
Biography
During her T32 fellowship, Dr. Arnold, PhD, was mentored by Dr. Brown, along with secondary mentorship from Dr. Don Operario. Her research focuses on HIV prevention among sexual and gender minority populations, with a particular emphasis working with individuals living in the South, incorporating clinically informed behavior change into interventions, and implementation science. She received an NIH Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Grant (K23MH124539) entitled “An Acceptance Based PrEP Intervention to Engage Young Black MSM in the South.” Dr. Arnold also accepted an opportunity to serve as co-investigator on a study titled, A Multisite Randomized Trial of Viral Combat: A Mobile Gaming App to Improve Adherence to PrEP. National Institute of Mental Health [R01 MH126681]. Dr. Arnold has served as co-investigator on two additional NIMH-funded studies: 1) PrEP Implementation Tailored for African American Cisgender Women Living in Mississippi HIV Hot Spots and 2) PrEP Implementation Tailored for Mississippi Community Health Clinics: Developmental Phase. During and after the fellowship, she received the NIH Loan Repayment Program award three times.
After her fellowship, Dr. Arnold began an appointment as an Assistant Professor in the DPHB as part of the Brown Research on Implementation and Dissemination to Guide Evidence Use (BRIDGE) Training Program.
