Gemma Wallace, PhD
Biography
Gemma Wallace, Ph.D. (she/her) is a postdoctoral fellow on the Suicide Research T32 at Brown University. She completed her doctoral training at Colorado State University and her clinical psychology residency at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She is currently co-mentored by Heather Schatten, Ph.D. and Leslie Brick, Ph.D. in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior. Dr. Wallace’s research investigates risk and resiliency for suicidality and common co-occurring concerns, including affective dysregulation, non-suicidal self-injury, and substance misuse. Her research has examined how proximal and distal biopsychosocial factors influence these outcomes in both adolescent and adult samples. She is currently working on projects that leverage intensive longitudinal methods to examine real-time warning signs for suicidality. Dr. Wallace’s work has been recognized by awards from the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Colorado State University, and Western Psychological Association. She previously served as a leader of the Clinical Research Methods & Statistics Special Interest Group within ABCT.
